Sk. Makbul Islam, an Associate Professor of Bengali in St. Paul's Cathedral Mission College, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, is much known for his research in diverse fields including folklore and folklorisics. He worked in different thrust areas like - Comparative Religion, Cultural Integration, Folkloristics, Folkmusicology, Problems of the Minorities, Jagannath Consciousness and have contributed more than 16 Books and around 200 articles in English, Bengali and Oriya languages. He taught in 7 Universities in India and went abroad to deliver lecture on Indian Culture and on Folkloristics. He is an MA Bengali Language and Literature and done Ph. D. on Comparative Folklore from University of Calcutta.
